In 1994 my sister, Julie, and I traveled via ferry in a 1982 VW camper bus to Skagway, AK. Our return trip was via the Alaska Highway. This year, 22 years later, we are making the trip to Skagway again.  We aren't taking the ferry this time but rather driving both ways.  And rather than traveling in a VW camper we are in a 31' Class C motor home. Since we are now both retired we don't have a deadline for getting back home and if we want to take a side trip to see something then that is what we will do.
